THE BEST LAID PLANS

After many very busy weeks promoting my book prior to Christmas 2021 I was looking forward to a break over Christmas and 1`m pleased to say I enjoyed every minute of it! From the turkey, the chocolates, the tinsel, the Christmas pudding and crackers—all were a welcome treat after the busyness of the Christmas season.

Come the new year I had a plan. First on the agenda was to write another blog for this page, check my diary and chase up bookings for author book signing events and be out and about promoting my book.

Well…it didn`t happen!
You may have heard the saying,
`The best laid plans of mice and men`.
It was written by Robert Burns and part of a poem called `To a mouse`
In other words we can interpret it as meaning it doesn’t matter how meticulous we have been in our planning, sometimes things just don`t happen the way we want them to.

Thankfully the virus that put me out of action has gone and I am remaking plans.

It seems a little late in the year to wish you a `happy new year` but I do hope it will be for all of us despite the weather storms and disturbing news bulletins.

There is a verse in the bible were God says` I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a hope and a future.` But we do our part as well and when plans have one wrong, then we can rethink, remake and replenish our reserves.

Stay strong, keep looking forward stay hopeful.

Until next time….
